We live in a society where we prioritize the world outside of us more than our relationship with ourselves.
Especially as women, this outward focus has come at the expense of our connection to our Selves. We wake up and start rushing, caffeinating, worrying, stressing, pushing.. And then wind down with food or alcohol, TV, more screens or prescription medications.
We send ourselves into a daily frenzy, an artificial state of fight-or-flight each day and then look to more things outside of ourselves to help us calm down and sleep.
We have forgotten the natural rhythm of our own bodies and energy levels, so we chase these caffeine highs and Ambien-induced lows.
No big deal right?
Well the science is showing the long term effects of stress, chemicals & ups and downs and it's not pretty.
We are overtaxing our delicate nervous systems, causing insulin resistance, weight gain, adrenal failure, insomnia, anxiety, depression, disease, and general dissatisfaction with life are almost assumed as part of modern life.
I stand as a voice that says we don't have to accept this for ourselves.
Do something daily to RETURN TO YOURSELF AND NATURAL RHYTHMS:
- breathe & listen, walk, stretch or eat outside, sit under a tree, feel the breeze, skip the coffee, toss the fashion & gossip magazines, avoid reality TV, oh and DANCE! Move how your body wants to move with no one watching.
Feel what it's like INSIDE YOUR BODY WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCE.
Find some place within you that feels good and let that feeling spread to every corner of your body.
And last but not least, intentionally focus on GRATITUDE - what in any moment can you feel deeply grateful for and why? Give your gratitude meaning beyond one word. This always brings us closer to peace and joy.
Return home to yourself. Return home to nature.
Feel yourself alive from the inside.
Do what makes you smile.
Give thanks for this life.
You are here, which is all the reason you need to enjoy it.
With wild love,
